THE LAFAYETTE EDUCATIONAL COMPLEX

In this section we will keep our members informed as to the happenings at The Lafayette Educational Complex. It was through the efforts of our Association that we were able to keep the name of our Alma Mater alive and, of course, we will continue to offer our support to the three new schools as well as the phase out of the comphrensive Lafayette High School. Below is a brief description of the visions of THE THREE NEW SCHOOLS.

THE HIGH SCHOOL OF SPORTS MANAGEMENT, Robin Pitts, Principal

Our vision is to provide students with a dynamic learning environment where respect is mutual, ideas are shared and learning is not limited to the classroom. Through sports and sport-related fields, such as marketing, management, law, medicine, journalism and broadcasting, HSSM will provide students with experiential learning opportunities. Professionals in the fields mentioned have collaborated with the staff of HSSM to create the school's curriculum. Sports agents, attorneys, doctors, writers, broadcasters and athletes will be teachers and mentors to the students.
